Slovakia Information

In 1918 the Slovaks and Czechs were joined to form Czechoslovakia. After the World War II, Czechoslovakia became a Communist nation under Soviet rules. In 1989 Czechoslovakia became again free because of the collapse of the Soviet. From the 1st January 1993, Slovaks and the Czechs are separeted; and lately (from the 1st May 2004) Slovakia has joined the European Union (EU).


The Slovakia borders with: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine.

Donovaly in middle of Slovakia one of the most popular ski centres.
