Saint Elizabeth's Cathedral in
Kosice was built between the fourteen and sixteen century, it took more than 160 years to be completed
in the year 1508.The cathedral is a beautiful example of gothic style. It has resisted to a fire in 1556 and to an earthquake in 1834.
In the west side of the cathedral there is the sun clock made in the 1477, which is still working. Inside there is an altar from the
years 1474 - 1477 with three statues (bigger than real size) with 48 figures. Inside the cathedral there are plenty tombs and the most
famous is that of the Hungarian hero Ferenc Rakoczi.
