Kosice International Airport is the second largest public airport in Slovakia, that serves domestic, international as well as scheduled or charter flights, and has a 24 hours operation.

Kosice International Airport is located 6 km to the south of the city, about 15 minutes away from the city centre of Kosice. Presov, the second largest city of East-Slovakia is only 30 minutes away from the airport, and to get to the Slovak-Hungarian border takes just 20 minutes.

Daily flights connect Kosice International Airport to Bratislava - by Danube Wings Airlines, to Prague - by Czech Airlines and to Vienna - by Austrian Airlines.

Parking space is available for short, medium or long terms. There are 150 short term and 30 long term parking spaces. Up to ten minutes it is free of charge. After that time there is an hourly, daily or weekly rate. Long term parking is recommended to be booked in advance.

Public transport that connects the airport with the city centre of Kosice is provided by bus number 23.

Fast connection to the city center is provided by a taxi service.
Car rental service is provided by Avis, Hertz, Europcar and recently from Alimex.

The Ko‘ice airport in the year 2006 has served about 344,000 passengers - increasing 27 percent from the year before. And this year the airport plans to increase that by 17 percent, bringing thenumeber of served passengers to 400,000.

The international airport has now a new ownership group, and in the near future is possible that there could be more flights out of Ko‘ice with more destinations.

Actually, there are three airlines operating in Ko‘ice airport: SkyEurope (SkyEurope has interrupted his services), Czech Airlines and Austrian Airlines. There are daily connections between Ko‘ice and Bratislava, Prague and Vienna.

Morning departures from Ko‘ice and evening arrivals back are ideal for one-day business trips.

Czech Airlines has recently added an evening flight from Prague to Ko‘ice, and SkyEurope is considering to expand the number of destinations it serves from Ko‘ice.
